I want you to think about your daily routine, and your readers routine. Where ever I go I always take the same things with me, my wallet, my phone, my keys and iPod. I can’t remember time I went out without any of these things. Your website needs to be one of these things. Let me explain;
- Everywhere
Whether it be house keys, phone or your iPod, those things go everywhere you do, They are with me when I’m meeting people for dinner, picking my child up at school or chilling in front of the TV, and your website needs to be just like that. You need to be in the fore front of people’s minds everywhere they go. They could be thinking about the last post they read in which you talk about ‘The Secret of Choosing a Writing Style or Dealing with Negative Comments‘ Everywhere they go on the internet, you’re there talking about interesting and vital information, when your talking to your friends, your website comes up in conversation. What ever the situation your site is always in their pocket!
- Vital
Cash cards, house keys, and if your like me, phone and iPod are vital to my daily routine. Cash cards let me buy my dinner and travel, house keys open the door to my house as well as car keys magically turn the car on! And now my phone and iPod have become absolute necessity to daily life. Your website needs to be so vital to your readers success that its an absolute must to their day to day running of things. Breakfast, Coffee, check emails, check your website. That’s what your want your readers to be like, make them so obsessed with your site it becomes part and parcel of their routine.
- Comfort
I get agitated when I don;t have these things on me. If my phone is not in my pocket or I have left my cash cards at home it plays on my mine. Your website needs to be the hit your readers need in order to restore balance to their lives. To become a huge part of their life your website needs to give them the comfort like their blanket as a baby. Be good to the worlds dark side (See how I dropped in a Star Wars reference their… Nice)

It would be great if a website could be viewed like that. I am sure some websites are. In my own experience there are websites that I will look at each day and some less often but still regularly.
We need to analyse why? Then within our own websites replicate the ideas that have inspired ourselves to visit and revisit those websites.

A daily necessity, that is indeed what you need to try to make from your website. When you succeed in that, you’ve got yourself a first class blog!
I’ll agree that you should make yourself and your website as indispensable as possible. The challenge is getting to that point. And I’m not so sure that a website is something you need so bad, that it just has to be with you at all times.
I know that I don’t have that feeling about anyone’s site, except of course mine.
And only because I’m trying to make a living at it!

People always need websites mate, now more than ever. Websites are the very reason, TV advertising is down and newspapers are selling a lot less, you need my site in your life brother ! lol
