Yes, here at TheInfropeneur.net, you can learn about traffic, list building, information products, motivation, etc. One can possess all the knowledge in the world, but without certain key traits in their life, they are destined to a life of pain, suffering, and wheel spinning.
Today, I want to you to analyze your TIP Score. I know, kind of corny, but I just made it up. Hopefully this hasn’t been blogged about before.
T: Talents
Nobody knows everything in the world. Certain people are better experts in certain subjects than others. This ties into two different aspects that directly affect your ability to be a top notch InfoPrener.
The first aspect is looking at the skill sets you have. Do you need to learn them to get where you want ? Do you know them already ? Do you know how to find somebody who can do it? These are your talents that you do/use to move you forward, or locate others (outsourcing it).
The second aspect deals with analyzing your talents, because oftentimes these can become a great source for the niche that you would like to conquer online. Most people excel at certain talents because they enjoy them. You become, sort of an expert, in that niche and have a great opportunity to help teach others what it is you know. This could be a great profit center for you in the future.
Score Yourself:
10 Points: You have great talents, outsource stuff already, and are already creating your destiny by blogging and working online about a passion of yours.
5 Points: You have talents, need to learn more, and know some things already that you are expert in, that you could possibly capitalize upon.
0 Points: You are a dead beat, and you don’t have any passions in your life. You are content with a bowl of cheerios on a couch, watching 8 hours of TV per day.
I: Integrity
Integrity, Trust, and Honesty go hand in hand. Be real. Be you. If you are fake, people will see through it instantly (Usually, sometimes it takes a little longer). Need to share a story with you. I had a business partner rook my family of a large some of money in a previous time. He was like a brother. I learned from him, and worked with him daily for 2 years. I went from having income (he was sending me checks) to nothing, overnight. I am honest, I have integrity, and he displayed none, when I decided I didn’t like the dishonest ways he was running his business. He continues to this day…for sure…lying, and cheating his way to the top.
I ended up fighting on and went on to renovate and flip about 50 more properties over the next 4 years. It was an awesome ride, and I learned valuable life lessons through it all. Small “white lies” are as bad, if not worse than bald face lies. There is nothing good about giving misconceptions about anything. It will come back to bite you. You’ll forget who you told what, and when, and then BAM…you’ll be in trouble.
Score Yourself:
10 Points: I am honest and trustworthy.
5 Points: I have good intentions, but sometimes am not as trustworthy as I should be. I’m willing to work on it to improve myself.
0 Points: Truly, I should be in jail at this point.
P: Perseverance
To get anywhere in life, there are always obstacles to overcome. I’m not saying you have to know all the answers. I’m saying you can’t take “no” for answer every time an obstacle presents itself. You need to have the drive and fortitude to search for and ask answers, and then once you have sufficiently educated yourself to the point you can make a decision…take action.
Action is what separates those who just dream, from those who do. Dreaming is good, but without the “doing”, you will not achieve your dreams.
Score Yourself:
10 Points: I’m not afraid of learning new stuff. I hit challenges all the time and dig, find, and ask the right questions to get to where I want to be.
5 Points: I tend to give up. I get some things, and others, well, I fold. I need to get better at taking action.
0 Points: Again, I’m a loser. I cheat off the student’s test beside me. I never seek alternative ways around anything.
Now, add up your scores:
If you scored yourself 0 points for Integrity, close up shop and go home. Without it, you are just destined to be a failure in life.
That out of the way:
25-30 Points: Awesome. You are an Infopreneur!
10-20 Points: Still ok, but there is room for improvement. Focus not on technical aspects of your life, but on personal development and motivation stuff instead. It will serve you well.
0-5 Points: Fold up shop, grab a second bowl of cheerios, and get back to watching the soaps.
What did you score?

Hi Brandon,
Great way to break it down. I would say (like a lot of my report cards at school) my TIP score should be around 20 and ‘must try harder’

Adrian,
Thanks, and no worries. I may have made the grading scale too rigid. Perhaps I should curve the scores ??? Nahhh…too easy.
We can all do better. Keep on chugging!

Hi brandon, a good post that helps to evaluate ourselves based on the important factors that every one needs to possess to be successful.
My TIP score is 20 and i’m sure that i can reach over to 25+ very soon..
.-= krish- Lifesher´s last blog ..Keys For Dealing With Critics =-.
No problem krish,
This is really what it is all about. Looking at ourselves and noticing where we can improve, and then more importantly…making it happen.
Take care,
Brandon
Hey Brandon,
!!
Interesting post man. These are some tips and yeah it’s not blogged before. LOl
hmm i think i score around .15 points
.
Thanks for sharing this great post buddy.
Hey Dev,
Your welcome for the tips, and hopefully the .15 was at least in integrity.
Brandon
This was a good way to get us to examine how we’re doing things and have some fun in the process.
I scored 25 and realize I may never get a 30. That’s because my ideal scenario is to continually question the need for certain tasks, eliminate as many as possible, and create streamlined systems to manage the rest.
Will it work? We’ll see.

Hey Jean….Hmmmm…you’re right. Perhaps we all could only ever achieve a 25. Our scores aren’t so much my concern, as much as helping us to look at what skills we have and need, whether we are honest or not, and to take actions in spite of obstacles. You are doing great! keep it up.
Brandon
I definitely agree that little white-faced lies are just as bad to your integrity as bold-faced lies…
Tell the truth, deal with the consequences, everything comes out in the wash…

Hi Brandon,
What a creative and interesting post. I really enjoyed reading it and I must admit that I ‘can try harder’. I’m just glad that I didn’t fail the test
You have provided excellent advice so thanks so much for sharing.

Hey Karen,
Thanks for the comments about the post. Don’t feel bad, we can all try harder. It is amazing how much I see that I am already going to have to try and streamline to make my time more efficient. It’ s a never ending process.
Brandon
Brandon, I really like your T.I.P. concept, especially the focus on integrity.
I’m working hardest on perseverance. I like to work on multiple information products at one time, but this means that finishing products takes longer, even though I enjoy the process more.

Hey John,
glad you liked it.
Man, I can certainly sympathize. Though, I oftentimes find myself trying to go in 10 different directions at once, I still try and bring myself back to my senses and get the ones closest to completion wrapped up.
Takes one more thing off my mind I guess.
Brandon
20 points for me. Got to work harder!

Mike….no problem…
We’re all up to the task of it….hopefully.

At least 27. My honesty gets me in trouble over and over again. Where I lack is in web design skills. Everything else is nailed down tight, and the show is most definitely on the road.
.-= Dave Doolin´s last blog ..Hacked. I Feel So Violated, Again! =-.
Dave,
Your post brings a smile to my face. You know…that good thing about the web design skills is…they are fairly easy to learn (I’m not an HTML genius, by ANY stretch of the imagination), and it’s cheap to outsource.
I gotta check out your post about getting hacked…that makes for a bad day.
Brandon
That was fun! Thanks Brandon. Like one of those online questionnaires you get, but this one was relative. I scored 25 which I’m pretty stoked about, mind you I could go a 7.5 on perserverance since although I NEVER GIVE UP, I could still do more.
And btw, I still like eating cheerios and watching TV!
(comes back from Google – Cheerios are a cereal!? – well there you go)

Hey Alex,
Glad you liked. Yeah, it’s frustrating sometimes trying to figure stuff out. But, I guess we all just get to either persevere or go an alternative direction, huh ?
Yeah, I’ve also committed the cheerios in front of TV routine, how do you think I know it so well.

I gave myself a grade between 10 to 20. I realize that I particularly need to focus on the talents aspect of this set of values

Julius,
Well, the good thing is…talents can be easily learned. Just takes some time and reading.
Keep on chuggin,

Hi Brandon,
Nice to see you on here, this is a great site! I scored a 20 and as you mentioned there is always room for improvement.
The interesting fact about it is that all of these things you mentioned are crucial to have and implement in order to prosper. It is all about building oneself up and continuing to learn and grow at the same time.
Thanks for tip on T.I.P.

Hey Anna,
Great seeing you also. How have you been?
I know just from real estate investing stuff. There are folks who know everything about it but still haven’t bought 1 house, for whatver reason. They just don’t persevere and take action.
Thanks,
Brandon
I’m all talent and no perseverance I’m afraid…

Just checked your blog and it looks like you are persevering quite well.

Great concept Brandon!
Like a few others here, I’m doing well, but that’s not to say there’s no room for inprovement.
Any dedicated infopreneur scoring highly needs to reassess their goals so they are more stretching and so they work harder at growing their businesses.
