The top 3 Diseases that will KILL your site

Websites close all the time, Blog sites stop being blogs and turn into archived information every single day, Why? Because they are succumb to a number of diseases that slowly destroy your dream of having a successful website, here they are;

  • Repeat

This is one of the most common diseases that grows slowly within your site like a tumour, that growth gets bigger and bigger and before you know it, your site is on life support waiting for it to be switched off. If you churn out the same old content every single day your readers will some realise they will learn nothing from your site, and never become inspired and never ever come to visit you in hospital, when your asking for grapes and your last rights. Produce exciting content that  is forever being added too.

  • Boring

Boredom is like a heart attack, It can strike anyone at anytime, But you can prevent this by being healthy, get the heart pumping, Excite your readers and get their blood racing round their body, See this post for some help on this. Have great information, but make it digestible.

  • Neglect

If you neglect your site, it will start to shut down, first your joints will start to ache, then your skin will start to become blotchy, then before you know it your doctor is giving you time left in days. Nurture your site, keep it up to date, monitor its status, upgrade the plugin’s, back up your database, check for spam, Please do this, check for lumps and bumps, if you do these checks daily, your site will live well beyond the average age expectancy.

disease

Maybe this is all a bit melo-dramatic, but if your serious about your website, then you will take this post very seriously indeed!

You are so right – about blogs/websites as wells as brick and mortar businesses. Neglect of customers, boring un-attentive service and repeated lame products and services. Thank you for encouraging all of us to do better on our sites! Let us all be the best and share the best and offer the best to those we are trying to serve!

  2. I liked this post! Funny, but true and helpful. I have some old “bumps and lumps” that I need to go through on my website, back from the days when I used half-automated content. Bleh.

    I’m trying, I’m trying my best! :)
    Learning new stuff every day.
It’s funny how I know when ‘that’ blog is boring but don’t know what people think about my blog!
But. Life is not easy! :)

    I’ll be pondering these.
Boring. What is boring to one is compelling to another. If you are staying within your niche, I believe, and as you say, are careful about adhering to avoidance of redundancy, then those that are drawn to that topic are qualified to judge whether or not it is boring.

Repeat. I am assuming you mean repeating of specific articles, or re-writing them on your blog. A technical blog, for instance, could be accused of repeating as they stay on the same topic…technology. Maybe you mean always finding something new within your niche.

If you have the time, please comment back, otherwise, I will most certainly be reading daily!

  7. I would add a 4th. Procastination and a 5th worrying about every one else. Now I must get on and write that post…

  8. Great list of the big three, most others are children of the main list. I find the hardest thing to achieve is true originality in the bogosphere, with millions of other blogs it is very hard to say something or talk about something that other people haven’t already jumped on. You can only make up for it by having a fresh point of view and entertaining writing style.
