I got the idea for the title for this post from Jordan, it got me thinking about the alliances you can see happening and the alliances that have already been formed. You can clearly see some sites working together, one popular website will proceed a product launch by praising the owner of that product, then once that product owner is ready to launch their alliances promote the hell out of it.

It’s not wrong as long as the owner believes in what they are promoting to their readers, hell I promote the sites I like and help promote the people who help me out or who are returning the favour. I do this because I honestly can say the readers of this site will benefit from visiting these people.

  • Renegade

Renegades are the ones who go at it not really caring about following the crowd or the traditional ways of doing things. Renegades are needed in every walk of life, they break up the normality and push the boundaries. Renegades don’t necessarily have to go around saying everyone is wrong etc, they just mix things up by saying; ‘I’m doing it this way, I’m not saying I’m right but I’m doing it and for me it’s working’.

I sometimes think of this site as a bit of a renegade site, it doesn’t always agree nor conform with everything it comes across, am I right in this approach, sometimes yes, sometimes a huge no, but this site isn’t about me. This site is about showing a work ethic that can be translated onto your website or business and start getting people to visit it.

  • Alliance

In most cases Alliances are stronger than one person can be. Having a group of people that regularly visit each other sites, promote and mention members of that alliance is a really clever way to catch the heat from everyone else. The InfoPreneur forum is a great example of this, people from all different types of backgrounds and market places coming together and helping each other.

Alliances need to be handled carefully though, being involved in an alliance can be viewed be some others as being in a clique and possibly not standing out. Don’t get me wrong alliances can be and are great, but just be careful. If that alliance comes under fire for what ever reason then you will get hit with some of it.

  • Monk

Amongst the renegade’s and alliances you can guarantee there will be monks. Monks are fantastic, no one hates them, everyone loves them and on the most part people do listen to them. So is there a down side to being perfect? Well yes and no, granted people love you and will turn to you when they need you, but being a bit too perfect can put some people off.

Look everyone has off days and good days, as such people change their opinion on things, sometimes they will look towards the monks for help and guidance, others times they will just throw caution to the wind and go for it alone.

Ultimately I think you can be the renegade but with loyal soldiers on your shoulder. How do I see this site?

I’m quite proud to be a renegade amongst a hard core group of soldiers and monks. What I’m trying to say in this whole post is that for me I think the best way to approach this is don’t be afraid to go out on a limb, but don’t push people away and go it alone too much.
