Hey Infopreneurs,
I just wanted to give a quick shout out to you all. I’ll be getting all my email autoresponder stuff straightened out real soon. I’ve had some huge epiphanies lately. 
Anyway, I have solved my video gripes over the last week…I know…I know. Anyway, I’ll shoot a quick vid here soon for you.
I have found an AWESOME solution, and I’m going to give you the quick rundown.
If you recall, I had picked up a Zi8 awhile ago…hated the video conversion process, so I returned it. I loved the video quality of the zi8, though. Only problem was the .MOV wouldn’t suck into Camtasia easily….had LOTS of issues.
So:
1) Zi8 – Made by Kodak. Can get from Amazon for $119.
2) Picked up the ATR-3350 wired lapel mic. $20 Amazon
3) Bought a mono-stereo adapter from Radio Shack – $3.
4) Searched the world over, and after many futile software/conversion searches…found Movie Edit Pro 17…they have a special for $79 right now. All the other video editing packages were so expensive and I was not confident of their ability to go from .MOV to .MP4 or .FLV
That’s it! I want, once done exporting my .mp4 files from Movie Edit Pro, I can suck them right into Camtasia and edit, etc (if I have screen captures, etc that I want to tie in.
This post may not seem like much, but it is literally hours of testing different combos.
The video and audio quality is absolutely top notch.

Hey Dennis, Huh!….that one was purely to help all of you. Period. Nothing more, nothing less. I’m telling you, that is going to save somebody HOURS of frustration.
Here is the scoop….Camtasia is a GREAT package. However, I’ve found it is best for 1 main thing…screen capuring. Now, if you are an InfoPreneur “showing” somebody how to do something…rock on! If you are looking to create a create video from a .MOV file…GOOD LUCK!
My old flip cam (a RCA EZ201) actually created RAW .AVI files…which imported into Camtasia Studio like a sweet thing. However, every flip cam I’ve bought and tried since was outputting in .MOV (I have no idea why).
BUT, I really LOVE the what the Zi8 offers. To the best of my knowledge….it is the ONLY flipcam out there on the market with a lav mic input. I tested several videos and the lav mic rocked the house with audio quality….it only cost me like $20…the ATR-3350.
PS…the only other screen capture I tried was the CamStudio pro.
I looked into about 3 or 4 main video editing software packages, but they were all like $400-$500. Then I found Movie Edit Pro on sale for $79…I grabbed it and it is a match made in heaven.
Once I create the .MP4 in moviepro, I can either upload right to youtube….OR, if I want to do some other editing….i can pull it right into Camtasia Studio and it accepts if FINE. No matter what anyone tells you…Camtasia Studio DOES NOT take .MOV files well. It is very choppy.
