Positive Always Wins

Today is a joint video post by myself and Keith from HotBlogTips.com on the need to focus on the positive. The world is full of negativity at the moment and people who are more than willing to put you down and drag you down to their level, we both say ‘Stay Positive’

Keith;

You know you have arrived when the nay-sayers come out of the wood work and begin bashing you for what you are writing. This seems to fit right into my latest posts about negativity reflecting your income.

The best part to me with this particular piece of negative publicity (which I refuse to link to and fall for the bait) is that he compares me to a pretty big name in this niche. I must be doing something right!

If you are going to make it in this business, you have to have thick skin, because there will always be those that disagree with you. Don’t let it affect your attitude or your progress. Keep a positive attitude about it and keep the progress moving forward.

James;

People will always disagree with you whether it be online or off, as long as you’re not putting anyone down, living in the past or out to hurt anyone just do your thing. Let the haters carry on and we’ll see who gets more done, the people who believe in what they are producing and the ones who are bored and taking that boredom out on everyone else. Positive always wins.

What does everyone think?

    Keith and James,

    Many people fear the negativity and I know starting out with my blog whenever I received it I was like ” F off” because I feel I am doing the right thing. But, I then realized that hey I should just listen to people’s criticism. The time when you receive heavy criticism like both you guys (I believe) have, then you are getting people’s attention in a good way. Bloggers are not going to make it far if they just play it safe and really just copy what everyone else is writing about. Boring.

    I suspect many people who lash out are as angry at themselves as they are at anyone else. Their frustration with their own lack of results leads them to blame failure (which is just a test result!) on someone else.

    Having failed a few times, I’m here to say it’s better to pick up and keep running than to dwell on it… or worse, lash out.

    Just go out there and keep doing what you’re doing as long as people are coming back and happy with your service. If someone doesn’t like it, there’s a reason and if it’s just to cut you down, cut them off and move on.

    he is so right. when people feed on what we right, upset them you know you are doing something right? I felt that some time ago, but although negative isn’t always good you can turn it around. Awesome job.

  6. Some of you guys have hit the nail right on the head! There are a lot of truths being said out loud (typed out loud?)
    I’ve come to realize that people who try to drag me down are actually pretty down on themselves. Friends, relatives, strangers on the internet … anyone, really. If they’re taking the time out of their lives to make remarks about ME, they probably have an awful lot of spare time on their hands, and it’s usually not worth my while to get upset over it.
    On the other hand, every now and then a comment or insult hits home, and that little spark of negativity is enough to help me pick up the pace with the project I’m working on, or maybe gets me to try doing something a new way. In those cases, the negativity actually winds up helping me.
