Market your product with Starbucks

This post was inspired by a visit I made to Starbucks today, and I suddenly realised the best way to market something is the way Starbucks do it. I walked right past two other well known and slightly cheaper coffee shops and straight into Starbucks, ordered an Americano Venti, nearly bought a Biscotti, then moved to pay, and wait for the fashionable delights of my huge cup of caffeine, let me explain;

  • Let your Customers do your Advertising

If you live in a city or large town, New York or London, you can see people from all walks of life walking around with big smiles on their face, with cups from Starbucks, and that image stays in your head, round the next corner there it is again, then you see the site, you go in and have a look around. Get your customers and readers to spread the word by adding re-tweet buttons and share functions, so they let their friends know what they are drinking, , then their friends see their friends who see their friends, and they are all spreading the word, free advertising for you! To this date I have not spend a single penny on advertising, I let my coffee cups do it for me.

  • Every Corner

Be everywhere, have a huge presence on social media sites, related sites, be everywhere and tell people about your site. Have brand image and leave little cooky crumbs everywhere you go leading back to your site. Having links back to your site everywhere people go online will increase the chance of your site becoming the next big fashionable thing everyone has to be seen to be carrying.

  • Great Product

If you have never ever been to Starbucks, its one of those place you could go in any store, whether it be in Washington or Manchester, and you will get the very best of the best at a great price. Their coffee speaks for itself and that’s the reason their customers are very happy to go out and promote it (whether they know it or not). Give your readers fantastic content and a product that will make them crazy for more, in a familier and comfortable atmosphere. Your site is the coffee shop, give them comfortable places to sit, and even better products to enjoy and your golden.

  • Same Taste

Your readers will come back to you time and time again if they get their favourite drink served just how they like it. Produce great content for you site, and add even better products in the same style over and over again, they will return (if they like the taste that is) for their hit every single day, sometimes more if they become an addict. I write in the same way I talk, which pretty much guarantees my posts will be served in the same way every time!

  • High

There is a reason coffee is so popular, It gives a high and its fashionable, and before you know it becomes familiar part of your everyday routine. Give your readers a high, that will make them come back for more, and when they do come back don’t disappoint!

    A good reminder that old fashion, down to earth advertizing, did and still does work. These methods have been working for decades.

    I can say that getting overly involved with expensive forms of online advertising was a good part of my downfall in business online a couple of years ago. I plan to come back and this time I will be more conscious of direct means of marketing like these that you mentioned here.
