OK the weekend is here so what are you going to do about it? I work varied shifts but I have this weekend off and I thought the majority will have it off from work too, if not just think of this post when you do have you day or two off soon.
Now it’s all too easy to fall into the trap of updating your site or promoting your products but not actually moving forward;
- Treadmill
Updating your content or promoting your products is fine and it has to be done daily, your absolutely right to do those things, but if you never take action to develop and push on you will be keeping up with the movement just like a treadmill, you don’t actually move forward you are just keeping up with the momentum rather than actually drive the belt forward.
The problem with treadmills is once you set the speed and incline all most people do is keep up with the pace rather than setting the pace for everyone else. Take action;
- Strike
The best way I can explain the market, any market is to think of a person stood still. If your market place is a person stood in front of you and you place a hand on their chest and nice and slowly start to push, they will be prepared for that and it will take a while to actually make them move because of the pressure they are putting against you. Now think of the same example but the market place is completely un-aware of what you are going to do, then you explosively push them.
What would happen? That’s right, they would go flying backwards and that’s how you have to take action in your market, no more softly softly and gently trying to make your way in life and business, start making some waves. I want you to make a plan of something you are going to do this weekend to take you forward in your goals or dreams.
In true InfoPreneur style I will lead by example;
- I will set up and PodCast account with iTunes which will enable people to download and listen to my stuff from next week.
- I also plan to start recording my videos for the people I am going to work with this weekend. If you would like to work with me then see this post.
- The other thing I plan to do is to start looking for my next car.
- I also plan on commenting on at least 200 sites this weekend.
- Last thing I plan on doing is to spend some awesome time on the hills with my family and treating my wife on mothers day.
Below is a video which will outline all this too;
What does everyone think?

Great advice, I love the treadmill analogy.
I trust you’ve taken the advice of my book and you won’t be wasting money on that next car!
Ha ha the 997 is mine all mine!

I think your last bullet point is THE most important one
I usually have my lads weekends, not this weekend, so I may well get stuck in as I often do when I have a free weekend, or I may do nothing but get out and see people, see what happens.
I don’t get out enough really, so that second option appeals…

Agreed – family and friends (and you) time is so important. It’s all too easy to get immersed in work and forgot about the really important things. Kids grow up way too fast and it’s a shame to miss out.
Phil
Kids do indeed grow up way to fast, can’t believe my eldest is 17 next week!
Where did that go?
.-= Rob Sellen´s last blog ..Bloggers new template designer, not enough really =-.
That makes me feel better about having an almost 13yr old.
James will no doubt tell us his kids are still under 3….
Great, make me feel old!

Ha ha guys yep mine little ‘un is 3 ! Best job in the world and without doubt the most important one.
At least you guys don’t look old, I look like my paper round was in Basra!

Won’t stay small and cute long mate

Ya’ll soon be going “wtf, stop growing!”

ha ha already am he is massive!
Just dropped my daughter off at the school disco – she was very embarrassed as I took her in a metallic orange Porsche!
ha ha Orange yeah there is a line! What type was it?
James
it won’t let me reply directly but in answer to your question, it’s a Targa 4s. Pix coming.

Nice

What I think… really?
I think you would strike *extreme fear* into a shrew tweaked out on crystal meth.
Crank it up man. Faster. Steeper.
You’re my treadmill, man, just keeping up with you gets me ahead.
Off to mix it up.

Yeah man let’s tear it up big style!
Hell yeah,
I make every second count. I’ve wasted a lot of time in my earlier days; it’s not going to happen anymore. Keep the momentum going; just keep it going !!
Commenting on 200+ sites ? Boy, you’re frickin’ crazy !
.-= Mars Dorian´s last blog ..Whatever you think, think the opposite =-.
Hey man yeah just did about 30ish, now going to spend the night working on my keywords for the site
it is ironic, I was planning on making my bucket list this weekend. Good advice. thanks James
Hi James,
Do us all a favor will ya? Try not to blow-up over the weekend. Commenting on 200 Blogs …… nah, I read that wrong, ………. right!
Each one of my posts takes 4 to 5 minutes to read then 1 or 2 minutes to comment, 200 Blogs ……… that’s 10 hours a day just commenting!
Yeah, I can spell H-E-A-R-T-A-T-T-A-C-K at 36 ……… hey, ….. I’m just sayin!

Ha ha you read it right brother, broken down over 3 days tonight, sat and sun is a lot more managable though, not to get all lifestyle design on you lol!
Man,………some guys!
Grab it and growl James!!!
.-= Jeffrey´s last blog ..Thesis For Bullet Heads =-.
ha ha yeah brother it’s all out there
Nah, it’s doable, but it’s a lot of work. I’ll get in at least 100 myself.
I have a super secret system for it.
I think you use the same system as me!
I could probably explain it outright, but it wouldn’t help anyone not willing to put in the time.
To be honest, I’m going to go to Atlantic City, have a few drinks and gamble away some of my hard earned money.
I could pretend that I’m attacking this weekend, but I figure that would be lying.

Sounds like you’ve got some busy times this weekend James!
What kind of car are you looking for by the way? Also, I love what you talk about here when you say to come in with a bang and so much force that the marketplace flies away from you become you hit it so hard.
Great post!

Yeah brother, I sometimes wonder if I’m too intense on the videos ha ha . Looking for a Porsche 911
I think the videos serve the site well and nice car to look for!
.-= Eric´s last blog ..Are You Giving The “Gurus” More Business =-.
I’m going to add one video a day just pure video IN ADDITION to the written posts, what do you think?
Not a big fan of video myself, but it’s excellent triangulation for those who prefer it.
Yeah exactly I’m not going totally video, but I know some prefer it completely, just look at Gary V’s empire… built on vlogging
So true. Maintenance without growth has the net effect of going backwards. I am out to double my internet-derived income each month for the next 12 months.

Another Wonderful video James, I see you are striking the blogosphere with your style, well done!
I think after watching, reading.. and hearing I will be spending some time with my wife today, maybe grilling some meat on the backyard while enjoying this burning sunny awesome day
I already have done 100+ comments lol
I wish you a good weekend buddy.

And you brother and you
I like how you included family activities with your plan. I agree that it’s always important to keep that balance between work and family whenever you set your goals for a specific time such as the weekend.

I like how you state your goals for the weekend, and hold yourself accountable. 200 websites, now that’s an awesome commitment.
Well done hope you make it.

Hey man yeah man pretty much done I reckon although I didn’t actually take note of the ones I did comment on, just went for it lol. it’s important to lead by example
James:
I like your point to expect something to go wrong with every new plan. I sometimes delay implementing because I am worried about what might go wrong!
