Today I’m setting you a task, a challenge if you like. It’s no secret that the biggest name in any industry work together at some level, or work with others in order to create success. That’s easier to see online if you look around some of the biggest names in ANY market are working together or have done in the past.
I want you to find someone to work with on a joint venture, let me explain;

Good point James, I reckon the 3rd tribe is one of the most high profile examples of joint projects. Guest posting is the first step, if that works out with your potential partner, go ahead and make bigger plans!

exactly it’s a snowball effect you just have to keep making connections and networking, are you a member of 3rd tribe?
I was a member but I don’t have the time to be active in their forums and the audio semniars they had on offer weren’t really up to scratch so decided to knock it on the head…

So, who wants to team up with a newbie? I bring half-decent writing skills and good looks to the table, hopefully you’ve got everything else covered.
Seriously though, this is a great tip. I hope to revisit this when I know a little more about what I’m doing

I’ll work with you, I am just getting started with projects myself.

looks like you have made your first contact!
Well, Justin beat me to it, and since I have no ideas for one just yet… But if there is room for another lemme know
*wonders off to ponder ideas that would be fun for one of these doobers*
James,
Awesome job brother. One thing I love about your site is that you motivate the hell out of me to get things done. You can call yourself dumb or a moron, but we all know that’s not true at all.
Bought the book last night and did all the reading. I’m going back through today to re-read and watch the videos.

Brother great job putting the workbook into action I’ll be putting your reccomendation up soon, that’s my role man to motivate the troops. Lead from the front and prove you don’t need a business degree to do it!
It’s crazy how much the “big guys” work together. If you look at the giant projects that are out in any niche (blogging, SEO, ebooks etc.) There are always going to be just a few of the biggest players that promote each other to even higher levels.
That’s how the game is played. Our job is to get a seat next to these guys, provide the best possible content that we can and move our own businesses up to the stratosphere.

exactly brother, that’s kind of my position right now, position myself into a place I can start working with them, or create my own group
I keep trying to figure out what I actually want to write for other people’s blog. There are a lot of times I think that they are covered fairly well with content and I don’t really have value content to add. It is like that with wanting to do a project with someone else, who would want to work with me in the things I have planned? Who is not frantically working on their own stuff so much that they could do something with me?
You are right, just get out and ask is good, but you have to figure a good person to ask. I am sure they are out there I just have to find them.

brother could you offer anything else other than just writing? Seriously man I bet you have a stack of skill sets others are crying out for
I was talking about guest posts there, I have ebooks planned, one a stay at home dad guide, a brochure on Sourdough cooking, A fly fishing guide, I am thinking wordpress installs may be a good sideline. I am considering lots of options. Maybe an auto repair paid forum.

Installing WordPress for a small fee could be very lucrative. Its really simple to install but LOOKS hard when you read the instructions. Took me several tried the first time I installed. I’d say go for that one (I am looking at offering such a thing through the people I buy my hosting from, even though they have the cPanel install)
You are dead on correct James.
Once you start gaining some traction, and gaining ground, good things happen.
You are one of my heroes man.

Ha ha nah brother I’m one of those scruffy dogs that just won’t let go of that bone!
I’m with you on that, James, cos I think that joint venturing helps you make more money and also helps get you out there making you the person a popular brand
.
Yeah Shirley, right off to work then, go and find someone to work with!!
I think the most challenging part here is to identify and admit what our weaknesses are. Especially when you have to show it to someone within your niche, this isn’t really an easy thing to do.
But the benefits of working together is well worth it once we’ve gotten past that task.

Yeah true, although I think you naturally find your weakness when looking at others strengths. I know this worked for me, I saw my JC partners thinking they do this well and that well, which in turn got me thinking how I could improve etc
This is how I prefer to do it. Not just because it works, but because I can conquer the world much more quickly

hey brother, yeah man that’s the way I look at it too, get alongside as many as possible then you become like starbucks!
I don’t really get how the picture ties into the post, but either way, I like the post. It was inspiring in fact. I am going to take your advice. I like how you call out your readers, and tell them that they have to do something, and do it now! Keep up the great posts.

I feel really lucky to say that I am in fact doing this. Doolin, Aaron Pogue and I are working on a Blog Challenge series, of which the Pre-Writing Challenge is my main contribution and I’ve got another project that I’m talking with another blogger about that has a lot of potential.
It’s a bit of a surprise to find myself in these collaborative projects, but it definitely has made blogging a lot more exciting.
