We’re a day away from June 2010. Almost half the year is already over. Where did the time go?
There’s only a little more than half the year to go and then we say goodbye to 2010.
I know that it may seem a little early to say that, but doesn’t time seem to be accelerating like a run-away train? Days, weeks, months go by so quickly. What have we to show for all this time?
Think back to January of this year. Five short months ago you were full of hope and determination for your life.
The possibilities were endless.
You had all sorts of plans for what you wanted to do and accomplish this year. You might even have told yourself that “This was THE year!”. THE year you would figure it all out.
The year you would give it your all and try your damnedest to change your life for the better.
This would be the year that you didn’t give up on yourself and actually gave it your all. Consequences be damned!
Are you on target for your mid-year goals?
Or is it time to push the restart button? You can restart today.
There’s a lot of fantastic resources and ideas on this site. Learn what you need to restart your goals.
If you’re not sure of your direction, you can change it. It’s not too late. There’s no use trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. If you need to make a change in your life, now’s the time.
Don’t give up on your dreams. They’ll all you have and if you give up on them, you might as well pack it all in and give up on your future, too. Don’t Settle.
Believe in yourself and your abilities. Renew your determination.
Don’t let your fire burn out. Keep adding to it.
The year is half-over, but you aren’t. Learn from your failures and the past. Figure out what’s going well and what needs to change. Then do what you need to do. Build your brand. Write your ebook. Create something remarkable. Increase your subscriber count. Write more. Do more. Be more.
Whatever goal you had in January can still be attained this year.
Stop doubting yourself and believe that the time we have left is just enough time for you to accomplish whatever it is you want out of life.
Renew your goals. Go over your planner and commit yourself to crossing them off by the end of the year.
There are 214 days until the year is up and the clock restarts to 2011. The time will pass anyways.
If you need to, push the restart button. You can still make 2010 the best year ever!

Time sure does fly by. The most successful people are known for taking action. They are quick to react and take on challenges. Sadly many people spend their time dreaming rather than doing. Nike have a great slogan. “Just do it.”

Hi Roland,
I’ve always liked that slogan. Short and sweet. No excuses – just take action. We can always take action as it’s not too late.
Thanks,
Karen

Hey Karen,
This post ties in very well with James announcement today. I guess for all of us in a way, it’s time to press the restart button and take a new look at our businesses and what we can do to hit goals for the end of the year.
Excellent post.
Thanks,
Brandon
We should all take stock, regularly. I am currently doing it, too, in relation to my Virtual CEO Goal for this year.
Goals are what set apart the winners from the losers… the successful from the unsuccessful… the entrepreneurs from the ‘workers’.
Nice way to start the week, Karen – Good job!
Regards,
Chris
PS. In relation to James’ decision, I was one of the few he told last week on this, and was equally shocked. But, Brandon, I am sure (like everyone else) you’ll do a great job!
Hi Chris,
Seeing where we are with our goals is important, but so is realizing that even though we may not be on target, there are a lot of things that we can do to still meet our goals for this year. It’s the half-way point for the year which means that there’s still plenty of time to renew our determination to succeed. We can restart anytime really, but I thought that I would give a push to those people who may have given up already on their goals for the year.
Yes, the TIP Team were told a while ago that this was coming and of course we all wish James and his family the best. Also, for Brandon who has very big shoes to fill.
Thanks for the support,
Karen

Hey, Thanks for the good words Chris. I’m stoked about getting it going, but yeah…like everyone here…man…it hits you hard.
Karen, I think it’s very important for people to review their goals frequently, at least monthly, and revise them as necessary.
The main problem for most folks is setting too many goals. There are only so many hours in the day, so we must set our priorities carefully and realistically.

Hi John,
You’re right. We should be looking at our goals and see what’s feasible to accomplish. Perhaps some need to be dumped or delayed until next year. Concentrate on what you can accomplish in the next six months and find the determination that you had back in January to really go after what you want.
Thanks,
Karen

Action can be taken any time which is why I believe so many people think they have all the time in the world. Problem is, you never know when that time is going to run out so take action now while there’s still time left and give yourself something to look back on and be poroud of because today is all you’ve really got.
Great post karen

Great advice, Eric!
But, if you are feeling behind on your goals, today would be a great day to push the restart button and double your efforts. It’s not too late.
Thanks,
Karen

May was my reset button. I started working daily on finishing the first draft of my first novel’s manuscript, and now that the month is over, I’m only a week away from my scheduled ending word count, and I am so proud of myself. I did something I wanted to do my whole life (write a novel) and started the process of making a living by writing fiction by taking that first step.
It’s going to be a long road until that dream becomes a reality, but I know it will. Eventually. And if I hadn’t decided to completely turn my lifestyle upside down when my semester let out and finally take action to making it happen, it never would have.

That’s wonderful, Professor Beej! You should be very proud as not many people get that far. Good luck on the rest of the novel.

congrats on coming down the home stretch prof beej. It’ll be something to be proud of.

Ha, in some ways it feels like I’ve hit restart a hundred times already this year. One moment I’m feeling jaded, the next I’m raring to go. It’s always good to re-evaluate, even if it feels that things are flying.
.-= Mo “Mad Dog” Stoneskin´s last blog ..Curing hiccups and preventing alien invasions can easily go hand in hand =-.
I know exactly what you mean, Mo.
Sometimes I’m almost ready to give up and then I get re-energized and rediscover my determination to accomplish my goals. As long as we know that the upticks are coming, we can handle the down cycles.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with redirecting your goals and abandoning things that are not working to concentrate on your priorities and on things that are working. That’s what the restart button is for!

I think you’r right here Karen. You do need to evaluate your position and do that regularly and adapt and change as necessary.
A friend of my wife tells me every January, that this is the year that he’s going to run the half marathon in my town. I laughed this year when he told me that and he asked me why. I said, ‘but Robin, you’ve said for at least 5 years’. He hadn’t realised he always says it every year, but never does anything about it.
