I’m an InfoPreneur who wants a FIGHT?!

My name is James Richmond, and I’m an InfoPreneur, theInfoPreneur.

Bloggers, eBookers, they are all InfoPreneurs. InfoPreneur’s are faster, fitter, stronger and sharper, we’re the new breed. We control what you read, what you see, what you eat and drink, we decide who you vote for and what car to buy, InfoPreneurs control the world and we’re unstoppable!

OK….. OK…. No Tom Cruise style Scientology type videos here, but I want to share with you the type of attitude I have when approaching this site and past online businesses. Before I go into that I just want to say that non of the qualities it takes to be an InfoPreneur include arrogance or complacency;

  • Fire

One way I can explain this is relating it to when I train self defence and martial arts, namely Krav Maga, Muay Thai. I love the feeling of being backed into the corner, like a cornered tiger. Your only options are fight or flight, You fight your way out, or you die … simple. Its at that point your fire needs to be red hot, white hot, burning at the point of meltdown and use that heat to transform your website into the only site to be on. Promote the hell out of it, get people to buy what your selling because they need it in their lives, get them to promote your site and products because they are so unbelievably fantastic they want to tell the world all about you!

  • Confidence

You have to stand tall. Look at a military commanding officer in basic training. New recruits wouldn’t listen, follow or more importantly respect the training officer if they were shy, talking like a little meek mouse, stumbling over their words and not standing tall. If you go about your business with confidence and have a purpose, others will follow, and listen to what you say and more importantly continue to respect you with a loyalty you couldn’t buy.

  • Strength

Strength can mean different things to different people, to some it can mean being unstoppable, to others it can mean the ability to stand alone. I consider both of these components of strength but you need both to be truly strong. With strength comes responsibility but its your strength that your readers will draw from, you can help others and by helping others you will only get stronger.

  • Courage

You have to have the ability to think outside the realms of what is acceptable and really go for it. Push the envelope and tread where no one else has ever gone before, don’t be worried about not succeeding. If no one has covered a topic before, have the bottle to publish it. Don’t be a hero, be the fighter who stands up when no one expects to ever stand up again, walk through those dark spooky woods and show your readers their is nothing to be scared of.

  • Compassion

All of the above qualities are needed to be successful in business, but I have left the best till last, compassion. You need to offer a hand to those who need it, and sometimes they need it when your so busy and have no time at all, its at that point you need to listen to what your readers are saying and help them when they need it. Never be to selfish when it comes to your following, after all without them your nobody.

boxing gloves

Hopefully this post illustrates the important components of being a InfoPreneur (Blogger, website owner) without being too melodramatic, probably the most important thing to take from this is to stand tall, and if you lose your way, just come back and re-read this post.

What does everyone think?

Glad you included compassion. Sometimes, people get so wrapped up in their own message, they forget the presence of others. I like your thoughts.

Compassion is definitely a great component to include – and a terrific motivator. Didn’t someone say compassion was “activated emphathy”? Exactly what Infopreneurs do – see a need, and take action by sharing what they’ve learned. Great post.

    Rock on brother.

Great post, I especially loved your point on compassion.
We have been given people to take care of, to support and encourage! It is important to see how faithful we can be with those people.

    keep on keepin’ on!!
