My name is Eric Heavilin from BluePop13.com and this is my 3rd Guest Post, 2nd on here. For those of you who know me and my work you’ll truly find this a joy. For those new to me and my work I strongly encourage you to read this and see what you can take away from it as I feel it makes a great point that most of us are over looking each day which is just a shame.

No one is the best. Some people may call themselves pros or gurus or something of that nature because they have earned that right, hopefully. You really have to go out there and give it all you’ve got while still allowing yourself to learn whatever you can in order to become even better. Yep, you’re never the best there is because there is truly no best. There’s always better and that’s what makes the world so wonderful.

Start Doing

If you’ve read any of my writings or have been following me at all and really learned anything about me you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of Larry Winget. He’s known as the Pitbull Of Personal Development and there’s a reason why. He believes that when you get uncomfortable enough with where you are in life, you’ll do whatever it takes to get yourself any place better. This is true and too many of us miss this point.

We’re often told that we’re doing a great job, and maybe we are. But there’s always something we can surely do better. Sticking with it is part of the problem but more than that it’s actually doing anything at all. I will quickly also let be known that I love personal quotes. Oh I love ‘em! Stuff like: If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got. I love that one because it makes perfect sense in so many of our lives. Do something different and get uncomfortable enough with where you’re at in order to get some place better.

Keep Doing

As I mentioned previously you have to stick with it for it to benefit you at all. I have always had a bad habit of starting something and not finishing it. I love blogging and I don’t think I’ll ever quit doing this. It’s wonderful and when you build relationships with people (even online) you really get a warm feeling inside yourself and it does some things to you.

The big thing here is even if you mess up, and you will, maybe make the wrong decision about something in your life or do something too late or two early, whatever it is, keep going. Don’t let it get you down and just keep going. If you stop, you’re just back to square one and hopefully you at least learned something from square one. If not, you’re only going to repeat it. Please, just keep going.

Actually Get Something Done

You need to accomplish things. Starting is where it’s at for most people. It really is. A great example of this is excuses people use every day of their lives about why they just “can’t”. Sorry, I don’t buy that. It may be difficult and maybe you’re not in the right condition for something in particular but most of the time people just give excuses. So start doing something and then seriously keep doing that something but then actually look at what you’re doing and make sure something is actually getting done.

Take blogging for instance. You started a blog about a topic you really love talking about; let’s use money for this example. No not making money from blogging, just money. Talk about ways to earn money and maybe how to invest it for the future. Talk about your own personal situation and give not good examples but spectacular examples. Seriously, do some of this stuff and actually get something out of this. It’s worth it. Take comments and leave comments and respond to comments and keep getting something done. You will have taught so much and you will also be learning a lot too!

Finished… Never!

Doing all three of these things are so important to making anything work in life. In fact, by doing all three of these and maybe even adding in what James talked about in his article you CAN sprint a marathon when he said, “By all means set yourself targets and hit them but as soon as your getting anyway near them, set new ones and keep pushing your self forward.”, you’ll come out on top.

If you do all of this and actually end up with people calling you “the best” or something like that, that’s a place you’ve earned because of your hard work and your efforts and your determination. You just shouldn’t call yourself that if no one really sees you that way. Let other people put you in that spot that you’ve worked hard for and continue to work at and don’t just label yourself as such.

Have you started doing something, anything, and are you still doing it or anything else, and are you really getting something done? From what you’ve done, what are other people saying about that?
