Every Day Is A School Day

It’s easy to stick your head down, ignore how everyone else is doing it and be totally head strong about your approach, for some it works…. for a while, but eventually you have to evolve, remember back to my Save And Delete The Probloggers post;

Well done, James. I know I haven’t been around much lately, but fear not…I am still checking in frequently..just not saying much. I’ve been spending quite a lot of time learning about internet marketing and building some new sites. As you say, learning is something you should never stop doing. You must actively seek out new knowledge and grow. Another benefit of learning is the new opportunities you will find opening up for you. More knowledge makes you aware of new chances for success you may never have been aware.

    • No worries brother,

You have to learn man, people who pretend they don’t aren’t realising there maximum potential.

Learning is growing, it’s like training a muscle the more you do and train the stronger you get.

Man I wish I’d had put that last quote in the vid lol

You make a very valuable point here. Learn! Not just read a book, but actually learn the book. If you don’t learn it, you’ll forget it all and then it was just a waste of time. I’d suggest some regular marketing books as well James, not just limited to the web. They sometimes help to see the bigger picture.

Every day is definitely a school day around here. Whether it’s asking questions from another blogger in an email or forum, watching a tutorial, or taking a paid class, I try to learn new things or better ways of doing things. Then I try to put that information into action or at least build it into my business plan in some way before learning the next new thing.

Well said brother! I used to be a teacher and we don’t just teach by the book (we shouldn’t!) especially computer science/engineering stuff. We have to explore and find ways of discussing processes more understood by the computer than humans. In the process, we learn as well.

I started with my own style and that everyone should follow. That was wrong. I was dealing with 25-50 unique students per course. Up to 250 students per day. In the end, I had a variety of approaches.

Oh, by the way, expect some queries from me in the coming days/weeks/months :)

    Have a good one.

Don’t let the super affiliates see this James. They make there money because they know everyone will read and no one will learn! People are generally lazy, but it just makes it easier for those willing, to stand out.
    Great Post? Vid? Whatever.
I’ll just leave you with this quote that sits quite nicely with this post:
“I had six honest serving men. They taught me all I knew. Their names were: Where, What, When, Why, How and Who.”

    Hi James,
I love reading. I love going to the bookstores and just perusing the shelves. It gives me dreams and goals in return. It’s a great tradeoff.
You mentioned about nobody knowing everything and needing to learn…I just posted about the same thing over at my blog, at least for a blurb, and COMPLETELY agree. It’s funny you had this video up today as well. I guess “Brilliant Minds” think alike afterall. ;) kidding.
But in all seriousness, it is those who are willing to break through their barriers that survive and thrive.

    Great Tip,

Also, you got to be willing to step out and try things that others aren’t trying as well. Good advice James. Every day is a new opportunity to test the waters and come out from under the umbrella.

Awesome advice. I always try to learn something new each day. No matter how big or small, learning keeps us young by helping us remember the joys in exploring new things.

The only stupid question is one not asked…That’s something else I try to keep in mind.

Absolutely right James about being open to learning new things and I might add that you also need to be willing to make mistakes and again, learn from those mistakes. If you ask someone something and they tell you and you completely mess it up, big deal, learn and move on and keep going. Not learning and being upset over what happened and staying where you are won’t get you anywhere else.

i am of the school that says ‘the best way to learn something is to teach someone else’. With each person that you help, you learn something back from their response, their interpretation and how they apply the stuff to their own situation. Would you agree James? you help loads of people…

Loved the comparisons James. Made the video even easier to understand and relate to. Loving what’s going on with the site man. Keep Hustlin.

  12. Great video James. I agree so much. I don’t know what I would do if i didn’t learn something everyday.

I must admit, that I don’t ask no where near as much as I should. Because it is not only easier, but also quicker than trying to work it out yourself.

PS. You mention at the end about stealing of other people (i.e. probloggers) ideas. well I am certainly trying to steal my fair share off yourself :-) . hah

  13. Hey James,
