Need More Mojo? Try Navarro…The Marathon Examined

I had the pleasure of stumbling upon a new blog yesterday….It’s by Dave Navarro over at TheLaunchCoach.com

This is exactly what I needed…a swift kick in the “wake up and rock the world” refresher course.

Matter of fact, I’ve found his stuff so compelling…I decided to do my own 24 hour “marathon rerun”.  You know, maybe you saw the “24 hours of Christmas” where they replay Christmas movies, over, and over, and over, and over…

Ok, maybe it was a “I Love Lucy” Marathon.  ANYWAY, I’m not a big watcher of TV.  I don’t find a lot of usefulness in it, other than watching Steelers football.  That does take a chunk of my time 1X per week each fall/winter.  We all have our vices, right. :)

Anyway, I’m proud to say I made it through the Navarro Marathon.  I just finished re-reading every post the guy has put on his site today.  All I can say, is go and enter your email.  I stared down a lot of my short comings just reading his 4 freebies.  They guy has lots to offer and I really like his style.

Couple of my big take-aways…I need to stop thinking less, waffling about what would be the best route to take, what info products to do next, etc, and start doing more…doing more content creation myself.   I feel reassured knowing that I may not be a 10 on a lot of scales for what people are wanting/needing, but I may be a 7…and that means 0-6 can gain from me, my experiences, and my knowledge…and that is worth a lot.

Well, I digress.  I wanted to share with you my favorites from the Navarro Marathon.  You should probably check these out also.  They will serve you well.

    Hi Brandon,
I am just coming out of a self-imposed hiatus from blogging. I’m just getting back into it now. I’m going to have to rebuild my readership, get back into the flow of writing again and create some products.

I haven’t been on your blog for months, but I see a lot has changed. It seems you also had a hiatus. What’s going to happen here? Are you going to have those regular writers back again or are you going to go it alone this time?

    • Hey Gordie,
Welcome back to TIP, and welcome back to your blog. ;)
Just a quick insight…I saw you were getting ready to get things ramped back up again…my one word of caution. BEFORE you go crazy content producing…really think hard about the product or service you are offering. THEN, figure out how you can provide valuable information that leads your readers to potentially choose you and your product/service to solve their needs.

As to where to for TIP:
Here is what I can tell you, I am going to be bringing it up to speed with content from myself and others…with a twist. It’ll be interviews of people successfully doing info marketing in many different avenues.
I’m working on several new information products right now geared toward the small business sector….(I joined a networking group offering blog setup services for small businesses and self-employed’s, etc), however I’m going to be pushing toward the “info products” for that sector, versus the service. Once I have those offerings in place, I’m going to be hitting up TIP reallllll hard.
So, stay tuned. I am a man on a complete, and fruitful mission…
      Cheers!
      Brandon

  2. If only he didn’t close comments…

    • Hah! I’m guessing you had some comments you wanted to post, eh?

I’m guessing he does that so he knows where the cutoff is for the free product offerings he puts out for different JV’s, etc. May be a better idea to just look at the date stamp, versus closing them out, but chances are…there is probably a really good reason why.

How have YOU been? Doing Better?

      Brandon

      • I read/subscribe to blogs I can comment on and vice-verse.

A little better, dealing with things…you?

        • Well, I was in Tax Mahem this morning…started reconciling my real estate business tax stuff. Will work on internet stuff tomorrow. Oh the joys of taxes…I always find this week a good time to play catch up and get an early jump on that stuff. Just getting ready to start recording another hour or two of videos for a new information product I’m working on. Then…will be on to editing the videos tonight. The majority of videos for the product will be done by that point.

          Take care,
          Brandon

Keep pushing…even when you don’t feel like you can.

  3. Hey Brandon, it’s GREAT that you discovered Dave. I’ve read and listened to him, earlier this year and even blogged about him :) You and Dave have some common traits that I love to see in Internet marketers – transparency and honesty. w00t!

I wasn’t as ready for Dave as I kidded myself that I was, so it’s back to software coding but, when the time is ripe, I’ll be checking his site for launch ideas.

Congratulations for getting through the marathon!

    Cheers,

    Mitch

    • Hey Mitch,

First, thanks for the complement….I greatly appreciate it.

Do me this simple favor, while you do your software coding…(I’m not sure if you freelance, or work for somebody else)….think of the services you provide and how you can get paid providing them….for more money (i.e….always be trying to think of how to not trade dollars for hours – i do it also, don’t worry). The goal is to always be thinking of building to be able to scale it bigger.

      Have a great new years!
      Brandon

      • Hi Brandon,

I hear you loud and clear. I freelance while building my software business. It turns out that the software scales up and down. I can post quickies on Guru.com using a fraction of the power of the software. On the other end, I hope to reach a scale on par with gems like EditPad Pro.

        Cheers,

        Mitch

  4. Hey Brandon, thanks for sharing your newfound discovery of the Dave Navarro blog. I took a gander at it and was blown away by his design (I do web design on the side, lol). There’s a lot of great tips on there and I like his way of style (writing) too. My favorite article by him that you recommended was “Why You Need To Be Scared Of Being Left Behind.” I think a lot of us can relate to this fear.
