The personal branding part is really important, getting the same image (whether it is a logo or a real pic) is something I am working on now.

    Great video Chris, thanks!

  2. I liked your video. As a fellow video blogger, I appreciate someone who gets on camera and shares ideas. Its not always the easiest thing to do.

I’m really glad you talked about staying power. The one thing that drives me nuts about so many of these scammy online marketing systems is that they promise “turn-key” systems that generate profit in your sleep. What a complete load of crap. I would love to get a behind the scenes look at a business that generates massive value on autopilot.

Business generates revenue by delivering incredibly high value to real paying customers. Online or offline, you cannot escape this truth. DO NOT get into an online marketing business if you don’t like working hard. Don’t get into business period if you don’t like working hard.

Yes you can scale your business over time and make income more passively, but that is a process not a first step.

I have a good friend who makes well into 6 figures online and the most obvious trait he has is “speed of implementation”. He comes up with new ideas for new products or new ideas to enhance existing products and he implements them faster than anyone I know. He can often monetize an idea in a single day. There is ZERO procrastination in this guy. Simply an action taker through and through. He makes mistakes sure, but he gets stuff done and he sees results.

Glad you posted this and I would love to see some follow up content that shows a more behind the scenes look at how some of the businesses generate revenue. Another conversation for another day!

    • Hi Justin

      Great comment, man.

Turnng a product into an IDEA into reality is a DAY is awesome. What’s this guys number? Perhaps I can hire him!!!! Lol.

    Hi Chris,

Great video, all so relevant, especially about branding and content. It is all about giving value, you give good quality content, then your brand will be built slowly but surely as people get to know and trust you. It all takes time, which ties into your point about staying power. You have got to be in it for the long haul not just the quick sprint.

    Regards

    Simon

    • Hi Simon

Couldnt agree more with you in regards to being in it for the long-term.

Rome wasnt built in a day, and all that……

      Thanks for the comment, bud.

    Hey Chris,

some kick-ass tips here. I can agree with most of it. Although not everyone has the glorious idea to create something outstanding in the beginning.
I think doing remarkable stuff is a process. I begin by putting a spin on things and I upgrade to coming up with my own creations. Starting small and getting bigger by the day.

Starting with ‘baby steps’ is a great way to find your ground and also test out what works best, too.

I like to walk before I start running, on most projects, too.

      Thanks for dropping by, man.

  5. Chris,

Great video. Personal branding is so critical. That is what people buy. They buy into the person behind the idea. If the entrepreneur can sshow that they are different and someone that can be trusted, but also willing to take a risk, that goes much farther than the person that just acts like a wallflower.

After 20 years in the sales and marketing business, one thing I know for sure is that people will ALWAYS buy other PEOPLE before the product or the service, youre 110% spot on!

      Nice feedback, bro.

Great stuff, Chris. Passion is huge, in my humble opinion. It needs to be channeled and then coupled with other traits, but it’s great fuel for a long journey.

    • Hi Jean

      Thanks for the kind words.

Yep – youre bang on here, passion alone wont do the job – you DO need a few other things, too – like creativity, common sense, marketing know how, etc. But that stuff can be learned.

      Passion… cannot.

      Thanks for the comment,
      Chris

Great video Chris – personal branding is very important – I use the Big Red Tomato Gravatar on Facebook, Twitter and commenting. The only place my face appears is when I comment on my own posts.

I like the way you use the tomato everywhere else, except your own blog comments. I’ve actually noticed it. So, it DOES make an impact…

      Thanks for the comment, bud.

  8. Olusegun says:

I’ve finally started a business i totally love. I had to sacrifice every other moneymaker to face it squarely. I hope to gradually get back online but i must say that i have very few regrets going off to build this business and one major thing I care about – the network with high profile people in my country Nigeria is finally being achieved and the money is unbelievable too….and that’s being modest!

    • That is absolutely awesome. I am so glad it is working out for you. The most important this….is to keep pursuing those passions, and everything else will fall into place.

      Take care,
      Brandon
