Hey InfoPreneurs,
Just wanted to chat with you real quick.
Do you hear that sound?…the screeching of metal, the wheels sliding along the track… if you look very closely, you can even see the smoke rising above the trees as the train is coming around the bend. That locomotive is not a typical train.
That train is coming fast, and it isn’t planning on stopping very long. Those with tickets, will get to ride for a great fare. Those without tickets, will have to pay for the more expensive seats.
This week I’m putting together the final plans for a new information product. It’s going to be a collection of just about everything I can think of that will help you learn to create your own information products, FAST. Anybody can sit in front of a computer, and waste away 3 months of their lives creating an ebook. Really. Anybody with enough tenacity can do it 3 months. If you get real ambitious…maybe 1 month.
I’ve been there…done that…and hated every single keystroke that my fingers pecked out. Not that I wasn’t enjoying putting the product together, because I do. It’s the pain of taking so many of my hours of my valuable time. AHhhhhh! Insanity.
- Have YOU ever tried Creating an Information Product?
My first several attempts were pretty futile. I purchased a couple different “how to write an ebook” courses…probably spent nearly $100 on just those. They took me a lot longer than I anticipated. And the worst part was…after I had the ebook typed, the graphics absolutely perfected, and then tried to sell them for the rock bottom price of $69, the 2 or 3 volume set was an absolute BUST. I probably sold 4 sets over the course of 1 year. Seriously. You want to talk about depressing?? I put HOURS into typing those babies, nurturing them, perfecting every single phrase in them. I even paid to have about 10 graphics from istockphoto placed in them. They were to be the best, and be my ticket to financial dynasty.
If this resonates within you, please approach the train station and begin to inquire about the tickets that are being sold for the coming ride. This train has traveled the tracks, and knows the fastest way to pass through the mountains. It can be frustrating and rewarding, all at the same time. However, the conductor is experienced. He will see you through.
Are you going to be On board? Or are you going to wait for a better in your life to climb aboard?
Till next time,
Brandon Yeager

PS. What have been your most painful experiences in creating Information Products?

My most painful experience is just getting going! Honestly, getting the thing written at all is proving a challenge for me. So I’m intrigued to see what you come up with Brandon… when does the train set off?

Hey Chris…planning within 2 weeks. Time is at a premium and I want to get this into your hands ASAP for several reasons.
Talk soon….Brandon
Getting going is a good one Chris. Finishing things off is probably my biggest issue. I have lots of ideas but only enough time to do a fraction of them.

Timely post Brandon, because I stared at the train for ages wondering how I was going to get it going, and now that i am half way through my own first product it is steam rolling ahead and I am now wondering how I am going to stop it
Looking forward to yours Brandon!
…funny, I always wondered what the light at the end of the tunnel was.

My information products are not ebooks but WordPress plugins. I guess there are similar challenges with this type of product. The biggest or more painful would be getting into the “zone” after taking a break from development.
Imagine that you are sitting there seeing and understanding “The Matrix” (yes, from that movie) just like Neo did towards the end of the first movie. You’re in the zone and it’s all making sense.
Fast forward a few hours and you’ve just come back from a shopping trip with your partner, the dog has peed all over the sofa and it just started raining with your good clothes still out on the line. Try getting back in the zone with the icecream melting in the car while you wipe up the pee and just then your partner starts screaming at you to help bring in the clothes as she just stepped in doggy doo-doo and can’t move as her hands are full and she doesn’t want to come back inside till she’s washed her feet …
Anyway, most days are a little calmer than that, but I think it would be … getting back into the “zone” each time.
Michael.

Hey Michael,
Interesting on the WP plugins. We’re happy to have a resident expert “in the house”.
Regarding the calamities…ahhh…yes…I experience it daily. Actually…I’m experiencing it right now as my kids are playing fooseball outside of my office.
Talk soon,
Brandon
Ugh, that’s the worst. I am not looking forward to launching something that fails.
I have yet to put out an info product yet, working on a small free e-book though. If it’s free, it can’t fail, right? …..Right?!
