Speaking Empire LIVE…What You May Have Missed

Man, May 10-12th, I had an awesome opportunity to network with some world-class information marketers down in Tampa, Fl.  Met some old friends, and met many new ones.  I highly recommend everybody get to some live events when you have the opportunities.  The relationships you can build their are second to none.  (I look forward to seeing you at one soon.)  ;)

Anyway, a rundown on some various things:

First, here are some photos of me with the hosts. This is me and Dustin Mathews.  Dustin is a platform speaking master, even though he dropped out of his public speaking class in college.  What a bum.  :)

He is one of the young, big guys I look up to in this world.

Dave VanHoose and I catching up in between segments of the week.  Dave’s a master closer from the platform.  He’s even sold products for people when they couldn’t make it, and even when they forgot to send the product…all in one gig.  crazy.

 

 

The event started off with a New-found friend of mine.  His name is Sam Khorramian.  This guy is taking the real estate investing niche by storm.  His focus is on short sales.  He’s been able to generate over $1MM in sales in just over 8 months.  Much of his success has been due to the 7 Figure Empire guys helping him with his webinar presentation.

He opened as the Emcee.  He said he had never done that before.  You sure could have fooled me.  He had a great intro, and was a great testimonial to the hosts for everything that happened over the week.

We even had Ted Thomas stop by, over some insights and share his vast direct marketing expertise with the group.  This guy’s mind is sharp as a whip.  I was listening to him talk to a gal who works for a TV station, and man…what a nice guy.  It’s really cool when you see guys who are really cranking being willing to just sit and listen to everyone, and shed any advice and expertise they can offer…free of charge.  It’s a testament to how he has managed to build and maintain relationships for so many decades.

Then, Dave led into talking about proper closing presentations, etc.  I can’t divulge all the secrets here, but I can give you some great pointers.

The main format for offers from webinars and the stage is to follow 5 Main Keys:

  • Introduction
  • Story
  • Offer
  • Body
  • Close

Those are the basic core key ingredients.  The great thing is, once you really understand the sales process, you can really use it for just about any conversation you have with anybody, when you are trying to get them to understand something you want them to do….ahhhh…..the art of persuasion.

Then, something extraordinary happened.  Like 7, 8, 10 years ago…whatever it was.  I purchased a course from a guy named Robert Shemin.  Now, I heard he was talking out in Toledo, OH, and thirsty for knowledge….I made the trek from east of Pittsburgh, PA to listen to him.  Well, I ended up walking out of there having spent $495 for 3 manuals and some cassette tapes.  I burned through those cassette tapes on the 6 or 8 hour drive back home.  I listened to them over and over again.

I listened to Robert speak, and purchased his information products, and I learned 1 real technique from them I had never heard before.  Well, 2 weeks later..2 WEEKS LATER…I found myself making an offer on a property, and bought one using exactly the technique Robert mentioned in the course.  Long story, short.  I ended up turning an $11,000 invest into $50,000 in about 5 years. This was not due to appreciation, or improvements.  We only spent about $2,000 on improvements total if I remember right.  This was purely due to the terms I setup on the purchase of the property.

As it turns out, Robert has gone on to have like...5 NY Times Best Selling books, and was the Opener for the recent Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump tour that was going on a couple years ago.  So, it’s cool to know I’m know a 2nd person connection to RK and DT!  Hah!

We had a great conversation out in the hall while the event was going on.  You know what I loved about him so much?  His enthusiasm.  That’s right.  Here’s a mega-successful guy who was rocking hard with clapping loud and encouraging people, and giving everyone such great support.  And the guy sat right next to me for 2 different days.  It was really cool.  I ended up sharing with him that he was one of the biggest reasons for my successes of being able to go on and buy over 100 properties over the following years.

I found Doug Bench’s story to be really intriguing.  This guy is a retired judge, among other things.  He runs a site called FloridaHardHat.com.  Now, the site is not fancy.  He helps provide contractors with Continuing Education credits in the state of Florida.  So, he has an email list of folks there.

However, what he did next, was really amazing.  I think you’ll agree.  He ended up buying some mailing addresses of Florida home builders.  Remember…homebuilders and contractors in Florida are broke right?  Contractors don’t have any money?  Well, he put that to bed quickly.  Anyway, he held a 1 day event where he had people come and learn about some additional “income streams” they could make.  Here is a link to one of the events.  I found that while googling him.  Anyway, Doug had 82 contractors and home builders show up to this “free” 1 day event.  He made an offer to them to hold a 3 day training seminar….for the small fee of $10,000 each.  Well, guess what…he had like 9 people signup for it!  $90,000 for a 3 day event coming up.  That’s awesome.  Congratulations Doug!
