Information Marketing Made Easy, er, uh, Made Easier

Have you ever wanted to rub shoulders with the big dogs, but were afraid to ask?  In this post, I want to share with you a few limiting beliefs I held, and some useful insights that may help you take your business to the next level.

I always had this “Build It, and They Will Come” feeling.  And then, I always thought…if they come…I’ll make some money.  And once I make some money, more will come, etc.

However, toward the end of 2010, I realized the biggest thing holding me back, was myself.  I wasn’t reaching out enough…I wasn’t partnering enough.  I mean, I know I have the capabilities to produce some awesome product, however, I wasn’t putting 2 & 2 together.  I was staying stuck on 1…and it’s been my biggest goal of 2011 to reach out and partner more…give more…and create more products.

Creating your own products offers many different leverage points.  Leverage points such as:

1) You can charge more for your products, and more for your services, because their is an increased perceived value.  In all likelihood, there is an ACTUAL increase in value, because you are able to offer more than the next guy down the road (or down the net)

2) Authority - You can become an authority on ANY topic you want to spread to the world.

3) Free Offerings/Bonuses/Giveaways, etc. – As you create product and services that are for sale, you can increase your viewers and readers experiences also, by giving them HUGE value by performing simple things….Liking Your Facebook Page, posting comments, answering surveys, etc.  They can be added to your autoresponder sequence, etc.  It begins to boggle the mind with all the opportunity.

So, I’m in massive product creation mode right now.  The next 2 or 3 products are in the works, or mostly laid out in my plan.  Once I get a product of some great value, I’m planning on partnering with the masses to help them, and help me.

I decided that interviewing people on certain topics would be great.  It would allow me to create information products instantly, and allow me to network with potential future partners at the same time.  However, I still had this little bird inside of me saying “Why haven’t you been successful?”, “Why can’t you create a sell online?”

Some of these questions began to be answered a little at a time.  My first WSO (warrior special offer) had 9 sales in 48 hours. Nothing to write home about…for sure.  But what it DID do:

1) It proved to me that I could create things people were interested in buying.

2) It proved to me I could write copy that people were interested in reading.

3) It showed me that I could average $40/day with a single product offering.

I went on to close that WSO down fairly rapidly….it was for EasyWordpressWebsite, and I immediately began to offer it at what I believed the value to be in the ballpark of:  $147.

Since I’ve raised that price, I had a question from a potential affiliate wanting to promote it.  I asked him how much he thought it should be priced atHis answer stunned me.  He told me to try $197 and $247 (if I remember right)…maybe $297…can’t remember the exact numbers.  Anyway, he told me to split test it and try it out.  Now, I need more traffic to the page, before any split testing would do any good.  But do you see what I’m talking about?

I have been striving to produce top-notch information products, top quality, and give people more than they feel they would be getting.  And I have somebody telling me they feel a $147 product may be priced too low. Wow.  What a feeling. What feelings.  Feelings of…Yes, I was cut-out for this, and this is what I LOVE to do, now, go out and do it.

Doing it…I have been.  Over the past 3 weeks, I’ve had fantastic opportunities to interview people from the UK, from Japan, from the other side of the country, and it has been a huge blessing to my life.  Confidence increases.  Products are being created at a rapid pace.  New insights are being gained daily.

One Small Step for Brandon….One Large Step for Confidence that Was Reallllllly Low

The first time I went to hit the “Send” button…sending out my first interview request…man.  I was nervous.  Sounds nuts, huh?  What is there to fear?  I had this underlying thought that these people won’t want anything to do with me.  They are big dogs, afterall.  I’m a mere mortal trying to make it online….and offline these days.

My anxieties grew, when after 12 hours, I had no responses. Then…like a bolt of lightning…some responses.  Before the end of that next day…I actually had 2 people wanting to go in on the new interview project with me.  Cool!  I actually made it up to 4 people who were committed, and then I hit a roadblock.  Nobody else was hopping on board.

Want to Learn More? Stay Tuned.  I have an entire program I’m putting together shortly which will teach you step by step how to do what I’ve done.  I suggest you signup for the Advanced Notification List, if you’re not on it.  Believe me, you won’t want to miss it.

NOW WHAT? Here are some Action Steps to Take Right Now (Do this!):

1) Write down 3 Key Things that are holding you back from achieving your dreams?

2) Write down the 3 things that you think can help you overcome them…starting today.

Seriously, write them down…just 3 things.  And focus on those.  Tackle them one at a time, or in unison with each other.  You can do this.  You can be the success you want to be.  You CAN be the success your family needs you to be.

    Hi Brandon

I like your action plan. So easy to get overwhelmed and also information overload when starting out! Writing things down can get me focused. And then taking action is the BIG one ;-)

Thanks for sharing your journey with us Brandon. Appreciated.

    • Hi Lisa,

First, thanks for dropping by! It’s a pleasure.

I feel like little success stories are happening all around me these days. All adding up, and I feel like it’s a snowball that’s just starting to roll. From increased affiliate sales, to increased buyers on my list, to products being created left and right, to BETTER relationships with other marketers. I have about 2 more “must” get-ready products to roll out, and then…I’m going on a “partnering” mission. I’m going to interview/be interviewed by every person I can think. Don’t worry…I’ll post a link on that in the future. However, it would be a great idea to get on my “advanced discount list” to be notified of major stuff happening.

My plan for this year…create some kick-butt products (while building relationships), and then leverage those products to really reach out and provide value to people’s lists (& MY OWN LISTS)…but it has truly been creating products of my own that I can sell (More importantly…that solve people’s problems) that I’m working on.

      So, take care,
      Brandon
