Hey InfoPreneurs, Just some thoughts and reflections as I hit my stride for the day. Isn’t it amazing how you are hit by streaks of light about great blog post topics (or even what would be an incredible product or business) at all times of the day, particularly when you least expect it. Anyway, Catch you soon. If you need to chat…send me tweet, etc. Catch you later. Brandon

Hi Brandon,
I’ll have to take exception to some of your thoughts. I feeling a might-bit cranky today.
I think it is human nature to want to help people. But I for one am not convinced that this provides you with necessary ingredient to producing a profitable business model.
My Blog like yours is my Online Social Business Billboard. I’ve been providing free everything over at my place going on three years now and I’ve yet to make a single dime. Not one. Tell me, where is the harvest that I have sown for.
Don’t get me wrong I’m not cynical about the issue. I’m just not under any type of illusion at my age.
I make my living Online. However, my market is one that is in a dark corner and has to have me or else………..
Now, they could chose among others, but the choose me, because I’m the one that can get it done. They begrudging pay. They do so, not because of all the value that I have given them for free. They do so, because they have no other choice! They have no idea what they are doing and I do ……. period.
Now, I told you that to tell you this. I’m not able to sell even an $4.95 E-Book to those that visit my Blog, where they can take advantage of all the “free” content. Yet I can collect $6000.00 dollars …..USD, for a site build from those that find themselves in that dark corner I mentioned above.
I really turn the screws to these people as I wrap-up my projects by providing them with social media services. They understand what Twitter and Facebook are, they just have no idea how to engage them for business purposes. I do this along with building an opt-in system for them to grow a mail list of potential customers …….. all for free. I never mention it until the end, they just think they are getting a new website.
Once the grasp the potential impact to their business by engaging social media, they all want to know if I can manage their on- going needs for a monthly fee ………..
Now ……….. I wonder which market I should pitch tooooo ???

Hi Jeffrey
You comment confused me a little.
You say, “I’ve yet to make a single dime” but then you go on and say “I make my living Online” and “Yet I can collect $6000.00 dollars …..USD, for a site build”.
Perhaps I am missing something but the statements seem to contradict themselves.

Hi Andrew,
I would love to earn my living Blogging. I could really groove on that. I’m just finding it a really rough road!
I make my income Online through a series of other sites that are dedicated to Website and Blog Designs.
I ain’t exactly “Blogging To The Bank” here Andrew. More like working for a living.
“Blogging to the bank”…. just brought a great chuckle from my gut.
kind of like what andrew also mentioned and I followed up…and you even pointed out yourself…and actually…even what I’ve been doing. I’ve been building websites, business mobile sites, business fanpages, etc as a service locally making a little cashola while things try to plow forward. the blog itself may make money (like Smart Passive Income), but even with Pat’s site, realize that a lot of his blogs success also came from his side projects and other projects where he was proving income from them (whether it was apps, or security sites, or something etc). He used these other sources to bring traffic (and profits) then to SPI.
Hey Jeffrey,
Oh, please don’t get me wrong….I’m one of the biggest preachers of being careful about “blogging for the sake of blogging” and “giving away the farm”. At some point, people need to pay, etc…that’s not really what I intended I guess.
What I’m saying…is if you CHASE the Dollar bill….simply the dollar bill won’t pull you through during the tough times. It won’t. The money in and of itself doesn’t have the emotional part you need. It’s the passion behind what it is you are trying do. If you don’t believe in it…it’ll falter.
Personally, I think that’s the biggest problem of bloggers in general. they think…drive traffic, create 100 comments per post, and I’ll make a six figure income. WRONG! Oh, some may. But, the ones who I see being successful are hustlers and connectors actually living in the real world, who use a blog as an extension of their product or service, etc. Now, some are rocking, but most…typing till their fingers bleed with no return on investment. It’s costing them something..time, money, or both.
Also …MAKE NO MISTAKE…and it’s not an illusion at your age. THE people who rise faster are better at 1 thing…relationships and connections. The foundation for that is giving. You can have the best product in the entire world….no connections…no sales. Oh, sure, it may come around after a year or two, but with relationships, you can transform things at the speed of light.
Hi Brandon,
I am with you on this one.
I do advertise on my blog and I do make sales but the main thing my blog does is get me personal clients.
By providing high quality content people will return time and time again and some (albeit a small percentage) will buy something. It took me a long time to understand that as when I started out it was sell, sell, sell. Now’s it give, give, give.

Yeah, that’s exactly what coachradio.tv Justin L does…uses his blog as a platform for building rapport and bringing in clients. It starts with giving.
Karma is really a key item here. If you give but don’t expect something in return you will still be receiving something in kind, it may not be immediately but eventually..
But you still need to work yourself to provide you your basic needs. How can you give something if you have nothing to give in the first place?

I am believing in this that blogging really help us. We’ll have to wait and be prepared. that money would really find us. I am blogger and I earn from this. At first, I really find it hard but now I was able to know better. It really sustain my needs.
