This is the first video guest post on this site and what a first one it is. A few weeks ago I did an interview for Chris over at VirtualBusinessLifestyle.com, since then I have been pestering him to do a video post for this site and finally he managed to get a few minutes to fit us into his busy schedule. Chris Ducker has hundreds of employees and he really is the real deal.

I enjoyed watching the video. I think most of the points you have covered are important. It’s funny how you mentioned that you read tons of books. I do too to be honest. Sometimes I read a book a day. Other times when I am busy I takes me a little bit longer. But I always read two books at the same time.

I used to also read a number of books at the same time. But, I recently stopped doing this to stay more focused on what I was developing from the books themselves – whether it be growth plans, or just simply learning about a new subject.

Hey Ben – absolutely possible. In fact I personally LOOK for it in my own personal staff – particularly with management.
If they have that mindset, and I offer them a good deal and they enjoy working for me (they better!), then the overall performance is through the roof, plus they have a sense of ownership that ‘regular’ employees don’t. I totally dig that and promote the entrepreneurial spirit with ALL of my staff.

Well said… I am glad I took the time to listen as I usually don’t like video post as much. But sometimes I got to challenge myself to do things I don’t want to do, even though I know it’s important. This is a perfect example.
Long hours, hard work, passion and accepting the down times as good times… you didn’t really tell me anything I didn’t already know (just being honest) but I needed to hear it from a winner. Thanks Chris!

For years in the corporate wasteland I was told I was a natural leader and promoted because of it. I hated it and finally got out of the hirerarchy and went consulting (which was marginally better, much better paid and I still hated it). I knew I wasn’t a leader and as a manager I was hopeless because generally I could see what we were attempting to do was futile anyways. Wish it hadn’t taken me this long to realise that I was in fact a natural born entrepreneur – I can lead when I have passion – its just I can’t be arsed unless its my own passion and my own business

Knowledge is power! Reading appropriate books and blogs is vital so that we can become good at what we do. Outsourcing or employing people too is vital if we are to grow a business. There comes a time when you are no longer saving money by doing it yourself and in fact there will not be enough hours in a day to run the business if we do everything!
