Mid December 2009 Report

OK 15 days ago I published a post My Plan For Decmber 2009, which outlined my goals for the end of December and how I was going to achieve them. Now on the 14th of December seems like a good mid-term report on where I am, so here are my goals again;

• Launch Free eBook

Well it hasn’t launched yet, but is being written and should be ready before the year is out. Very excited about this and if it was going to be like any other free eBook you seem to get these days I could have written it and released in a day or two, but I want it to be representative of the site and most of all I want people to say I can’t believe you are giving this away for free, I would easily pay for this.

It’s important for me to get it right first time and release something I would gladly download and tell my friends about it. I value the readers of this site and as such, I want to release something that they can have for free and improve their site.

• 60 Posts

28 posts in 14 days, which means I have 32 posts to do in 17 days which shouldn’t be a problem as I am averaging 2 a day. The important point to note here is that I won’t compromise on quality just to meet my quota.

I don’t think there is an advantage or disadvantage of posting 60 times a month or 20 (I can feel a post coming on about that!) For me I am posting twice a day because I have got that much to say and as a new website I want to build the content on the site.

• 100,000 hits

So far this month this website has received 53,837 hits, averaging 3,846 a day so I am well on target for hitting that. I try and keep the hits between 3-4,000 now and again I drop slightly below 3,000 a day but the next day it could be over 4,000 so as long as I keep it steady over this Christmas period I will be on track.

• Reach + Maintain Top 1%

I first went into Alexa’s top 1% on the 2nd of December and reached around 82,000 which I was made up with. I have stopped looking at Alexa as much due to me becoming obsessed with it and it was affecting my productivity. So at the minute I hover around 95,000-98,000 which is on target for me. I aim to increase it slightly in the new year, but I think it’s important to let a site steady and keep the momentum as well as build on it.

• Write 2 Guest Posts

This is one thing I have not done yet. Still time but at the moment I am way too busy. This might have been a little bit ambitious but I haven’t given up so in between writing my eBook, posting, promoting and helping readers I will try and squeeze in some guest posts!

• Receive 10 Quality Guest Posts

So far I have received only 1 guest post that I was happy to publish on this site. Still on the look out so if you do want to send one in then please use the Contact Me page to ask me how to go about it.
