The Importance of Pen and Paper

by theinfopreneur on November 5, 2009

Writers block is something all InfoPreneurs/Bloggers go through, I would imagine Barack Obama’s speech writer Jon Favreau suffers from it every now and again. I’m not a literal genius, A hell of a lot of work goes into these posts and I suffer with writers block quite a lot, but instead of typing up some drivel I am not passionate about just to get a new post up, I get my pen and paper and scrawl down ideas;

So what did I come up with for post ideas?

What we can learn from Ronin;

Making references to the film Ronin, with Robert De-Nero. My all time favourite film, but more specifically talking about the fact that they were master-less and went on to create their own destiny

How to write an eBook;

I have been researching this myself of late prior to launching a series of training aids next year, so it would make sense to talk about it.

How to capitalize on traffic spikes;

Again having recent traffic spikes on the site, I have been playing around with different ways of building on it.

Dealing with traffic flat spots;

Again any new site has flat spots, as much as you want to you can’t always beat yesterdays visitors, but their is a way to deal with it.

Why use thesis;

Its the template I use with wordpress but I struggled for a long time with other platforms.

If you had $500 to spend on your site, how would you spend it?

A good question and will hopefully generate a lot of interest, and one that I will write about later today.

Dealing with negative comments;

We all get them, and we take it personally, here’s how to turn it into a positive.

Is there an alternative to WordPress?

I have used a lot of different platforms but some people feel forced to use wordpress, There are alternatives out there.

So from having a complete meltdown about what I was going to write about today, I’ve got 9 post title ideas which will keep me going for the next week and it only took, 2-3 minutes of sitting down with a pen and write the first thing that comes into my tiny little brain!
How do you cope with writers block?

I have always got a pen and paper handy you never know when the next happy thought, or idea will pop up. Although, I like the idea that you write your post in advance, I may just try that, my work is load is quite big these days and time management is everything. Thanks.

It really helps, I’m not massively infront of my self maybe only a day or two at a time, but it really does help.
