Navy SEALS blog

Unlike Hollywood blockbusters, A daring special forces raid doesn’t mean a bunch of guys grab a bag full of guns and grenades, jump into some fast boats under the cover of darkness all guns blazing then back to the submarine for tea and medals. Most special forces units have fantastic moto’s. Two of my favourates are ‘Train Hard, Fight Easy’ and ‘By Strength or by Guile’  These guys and girls are out there right now doing there thing. We can learn a hell of a lot from these people as true special forces operations are just like InfoPreneur’s;

The Mission

  • Who’s the Target?

Know who your targeting, know what they look and sound like, what are they interested in, how old are they? Know who your customers or readers are is the key recognising who your target audience is.

  • Location – Where is your target

Where do they sleep, eat and work? Where do they hang out, who are their friends, who are their friend’s friends, if they are not at the location where might they be?

  • Route In – Best way to get to the target and routes to definately avoid.

Do you go for the most direct route or use the local population to bring them to you.

  • Whats the plan when you reach the target?

A smash and grab or live amongst the population before they come with you willingly.

  • Extraction – Best way to leave without taking casualtys

The last thing you need after you have your target is too start suffering casualties yourself by getting into a fire fight with the local population. You will more than likely have to return to this operational arena, so keep the local population on side to ease your return.

I approach TheInfoPreneur like a military operation.

Success comes from the right training!

6 months it takes to train a Navy SEAL, it’s only then can they start to look for success on the battle field.

  • Hell Week

When you think no one knows your name, no one comes to visit you and no one even speaks to you. You have got to get past this point to progress, if you ring that bell, you will never succeed.

  • Boat Run

Your part of a small community, but the odds are stacked against you and only the strongest of mond and body will get to the next phase. Keep lifting your heavy boots in the wet sand and keep that boat above your head…. Your a little closer to success.

  • Swim Test

Yet another test of will power. Block out the cold front your getting and the fact nobody is talking to you again, keep your head above water and push on.

  • Final Exercise

Prove you have what it takes by leading from the front. Don’t copy the actions of those around you, use your instinct and self belief to reach the end goal.

OK maybe a little dramatic, but you get my point, by going at it day after day no matter if your seem to be getting some where or not, you’ve got a goal, a mission, NOW GO OUT THERE AND ACHIEVE IT!

make your goals short and attainable. Don’t get bogged down by the whole process. Just like trainees in BUD/s Hell week… they go from meal to meal.. if they took on the whole week it would too overwhelming.
